Summer Small Group Tours

ALKU virgin forest and cliffs spectacular tour

OverviewInstead of relying on maintained walking trails, you will walk through a primeval forest that is almost untouched by human hands. In the deep forest, which is mainly made up of Mizunara oak and Todo fir trees, you can sense the presence of life everywhere, such as footprints, feeding marks, and claw marks of wild animals. Once you leave the forest, you will be greeted by a beautiful view of the Shiretoko mountain range, cliffs carved by the power of nature, and Cape Shiretoko beyond. This is a route recommended by guides, where you can experience both the terrain and ecosystem that are unique to Shiretoko.
